The history section of this site is intended to be an archive of all that we can accumulate about Downeaster boats and Down East Yachts, Inc, the builder of the boat.
Don't stop at just who, what, where, when and why — history includes manuals and any publications that pertain to what was generally or has been commonly outfitted. This online library of publications can be of great help to those who obtained their boats without complete papers or people who would just like to carry this information in electronic form.
Another very valuable contribution you can make is information on where to buy parts and supplies of value to Downeaster owners. I'll add it to the supplier list here.
All this is valuable not just to owners, but also to prospective owners and yacht brokers as well. Helping to establish an accurate history and support mechanism helps establish and maintain value in these fine boats for all concerned.
Here's a wish list to give you some ideas of things you might contribute;
To contribute anything at all, put what you have in an email including attachments and send it in.
