The DownEaster
For Owners of DownEaster Yachts

This site is a non-profit, disorganized group of owners of DownEaster yachts who are banding together here to find shelter from the harsh reality of owning and keeping up a boat—DownEasters in particular.

How-To's

How-To's show you how one owner solved a problem, made an improvement, fixed a boat system or redesigned the boat in small or big ways. They are a great source of ideas of how you might also solve the same or similar problem. For information on how to submit a How-To, click here.

Most pictures have larger versions that you can see by clicking on the picture. Use the browser back button to return to the article.

Here are some table pictures from the old web site that I didn't want to loose, so I have merged them into here as a How-To. --Gene

Source is unknown. Note table folded up against foreward bulkhead. (My boat originally had the same kind of table.)

Previous notes indicate this is from Halcyon. Similar to above, the table is folded up against the foreward bulkhead.

Eriu has a fixed table (photo) supported at the after end by a nice wood pole (excuse the mess, this was the day I bought the boat). If I go ahead with the folding option I would leave this in place, as a useful hand hold. The gimballed shelf box you see in the photo, over the table, has been removed. It was useful, but tended to get filled up with junk. It has been moved to the partial bulkhead forward of the sink (and still gets filled up with junk)
