This site is a non-profit, disorganized group of owners of DownEaster yachts who are banding together here to find shelter from the harsh reality of owning and keeping up a boat—DownEasters in particular.

   

Privacy Statement

Privacy? Expect very little. Everything you send in may and probably will be published here for the whole world to see. It may be here long after your have split up with the girlfriend, wife, boyfriend or significant others in the pictures you send. So don't send anything you don't want your grandchildren or their children to know about. Who knows how long fiberglass boats and websites may last.

Your contributions may not be presented perfectly. Little if any editing will be done so if you can't string together a few words into a sentance get some help. Otherwise just send lots of pictures and let them speak for themself.

However, this site thrives on the few hundred Downeaster owners and the collective goodwill among us. We're all here for the common good; just a bunch of nice folks sharing information and trying to help out. If you are not happy, we are not happy. Make a reasonable request to our headquarters and it will probably be honored. Maybe not by tomorrow morning, but as soon as possible or eventually.

The one and only exception to the above is email addresses. If you provide your email it will be treated with privacy and only used to notify you of news about this web site. It will not be published on this site because spam robots commonly scan web sites for such things.

It's not your usual privacy statement but since we can't afford a lawyer we can't afford the usual justice. That's the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
